Statistica software is a set of tools for analysis, management and visualization of data, and data mining methods for statistically analyzing data, creating graphs, operating on databases, performing data transformations and developing applications. The system includes a comprehensive set of advanced analytical procedures used in science, business, technology and data mining.

Setup guide

Information required to activate the software (serial number and product key) can be found in the AGH Panel, in the "Software" tab.

Statistica setup files

The Statistica setup files can be downloaded from the AGH Cloud. To log in, use your AGH e-mail credentials.

All current orders for Statistica, including renewals, are subject to the terms and conditions applicable to TIBCO Software products as specified in the license agreement.

Setup files for additional analitical toolkits (PLUS suite)

The additional analitcal toolkit files can be downloaded from the AGH Cloud. To log in, use your AGH e-mail credentials.

Setup of the PLUS Suite

The Suite needs to be installed with a separate installer. After installing the add-in, you need to place the license file, License.xml, into the suite installation location – by default it is C:\Program Files\StatSoft\StatSoftAddInns\.

Next, launch Statistica. During the launch, an "Analitical modules" window will pop up where you need to select the License.xml file. If Statistica does not show you that prompt, you need to launch the program, go to "Plus suite" -> "About the software" and in the pop up window select "Import license file" and select the License.xml file.

Do not mistake that pop-up window with the "Statistica license" window, which is inteded for activating the program itself, not the Suite.

Detailed setup guide

Statistica setup - additional comments

  • If the setup file is compressed (as a .zip file) you need to extract it first, then launch the setup file from the extracted folder.
  • Launch the installer by righ-clicking the setup.exe file and choosing "Run as administrator" (you will not be able to install the program without administrator's permisssions).
  • You need to enter the valid serial number and product key during the setup.
  • Statistica 13 is not compatible with Windows XP and 2003 Server. It can be installed on Windows 7 or newer and their server counterparts.
  • Users using Statistica 12.5 on Windows XP and 2003 Server should keep using that version, as it is not possible to install the newer version on those operating systems.

Statistica registration

Statistica requires registration, which usually happens during the setup. If the registration fails (e.g., if you do not have Internet access), you can register the software using another method (reigstering Statistica is required, otherwise the program will stop working after 14 days)"

Method #1:

  • Make sure you are connected to the Internet.
  • Launch Statistica – right-click the setup file and select "Run as administrator" – otherwise registering might not succeed due to the lack of administrator permissions.
  • In the pop-up window select "Register" and choose the automatic registration method.
  • The program will prompt you to choose the registration file (StatSoftRegistration.txt) – it is located in the Statistica installation folder (for Statistica 13.3 the defaul path is C:\Program Files\Statistica\STATISTICA 13 or C:\Program Files (x86)\Statistica\STATISTICA 13). After finding the file, select it and press the "Open" button. An information about the license file being updated should be displayed.

If you followed the steps described above but the registration did not succeed, it means that something (e.g., antivirus software, firewall, lack of permissions) is blocking the automatic registration. In that case, you can try to register Statistica using the second method.

Method #2:

  • Find the registration file, StatSoftRegistration.txt – it is located in the Statistica installation folder (for Statistica 13.3, the default path is C:\Program Files\Statistica\STATISTICA 13 or C:\Program Files (x86)\Statistica\STATISTICA 13).
  • Open a web browser and go to https://registration.statsoft.com/.
  • On the website, enter the Statistica serial number, your AGH e-mail address, and select the StatSoftRegistration.txt file.
  • You should receive an e-mail with the stat.lic license file.
  • Save the file on the on your computer.
  • Launch Statistica – right-click the setup file and select "Run as administrator" – otherwise registering might not succeed due to the lack of administrator permissions.
  • In the pop-up window press "Install license file", select the location of the new stat.lic license file, and press "Open". An information about the license file being updated should be displayed.

If none of the registration methods succeed, please take a screenshot of the error that appears during a registration attempt and send it to info@statsoft.pl or tech@statsoft.pl.
