Certificates

About the service

Digital certificates are provided to the AGH employees for the purpose of carrying out the University's statutory activities.

The IT Solutions Centre assists in acquiring the following:

  • personal certificates (S/MIME), which allow to digitally sign electronic corespondence (e-mail messages) and encrypt it in order to protect itsc contents;
  • server certificates (SSL/TLS), which allow to confirm the authenticity of the server and encrypt the connection between browser and server;
  • qualified electronic signature certificates (e-Signature), which allow to sign digital documents (e.g., PDF, Excel, Word files) that require such verification before being sent to, for example, external entities. Digitally signed documents are legally binding as physical documents signed by hand.
