Log in to the AGH Panel and check your status in the "You" tab. If it is correct (employee, student, or doctoral student), please follow the instructions below:

  • Clear cookies and cache in the browser.
  • Make sure the CapsLock key is not active.
  • Check if your keyboard layout is correct – press "z" or "y" and make sure the correct letter appears on the screen.
  • Restart your computer and try again.

If you still cannot log in, contact the IT Helpdesk.

Clear your browser's cache and cookies and try to log in again. If the error appears again, contact the IT Helpdesk.

Yes, retired AGH employees can still use the Microsoft 365 suite, but only the browser (online) version. Read more: Logging in to Microsoft 365.

No, you can also use the Microsoft 365 suite online via a web browser. Read more: Logging in to Microsoft 365.

Yes, it is possible to use the Microsoft 365 suite in the offline mode (without an active Internet connection) but only if you have previously installed the classic applications of the suite. Read more: Microsoft 365 suite installation.

Attention: MS Teams is an exception, as it requires active Internet connection to maintain its full functionality.

Firstly, please follow the diagnostic steps listed below.

  • EMPLOYEES ONLY: Make sure you have activated your Microsoft 365 license in the AGH Panel in the "Microsoft" tab.
  • Make sure you are logged in to the app with your @agh.edu.pl or @student.agh.edu.pl account.
  • Log out of the app and log in again.
  • Uninstall the Microsoft 365 suite and install it again with the help of the user guide: Microsoft 365 suite installation.
  • Go to portal.office.com/account/ and log in with your AGH account, then open the "Subscriptions" tab from the menu and make sure the license assigned to your account is called "Office 365 A3 for faculty/student use benefit". If it is not, contact the IT Helpdesk.

If the problem still persists after completing all the steps above, please follow the instructions: Reset activation state for Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise.

UNIX accounts

You can reset your password in the AGH Panel. Read more: UNIX account password.

  • Make sure you are entering the correct username – you need to enter only the characters before the "@" sign, e.g., if your login is "user@student", the username you need to enter is "user".
  • Reset your UNIX account password. Read more: UNIX account password.
  • Make sure you are connected to the University Computer Network – you need to be using the AGH network within the campus or connect to it remotely via a VPN tunnel. Read more: Connecting to the AGH VPN.
  • Make sure you entered the correct host name while trying to connect to the server via WinSCP or PuTTY. Read more: WinSCP user guide, PuTTY user guide.

If you still cannot log in to your UNIX account after completing all the steps above, please contact the IT Helpdesk.

The IT Solutions Centre servers allow for the use of PHP scripts on home websites. However, it is required that the .php files have the execute permission – the easiest way to ensure this is to use a unix command: "find . -name '*.php' -print0 | xargs -0 chmod a+rx".

Users requiring access to a database may use the MySQL database server. Users who have an AGH e-mail account (@agh.edu.pl or @students.agh.edu.pl) can create a database in the AGH Panel. The database's validity is connected to the validity of the e-mail account it is assigned to.

Connect to the correct server (galaxy.agh.edu.pl or student.agh.edu.pl) via SFTP (Windows: WinSCP). The FTP protocol is not used on our servers.

If you are trying to connect to the server from outside of the campus, you need to first set up a VPN connection.

Create a folder called "public_html" and place all of your website files inside it. Please remember that the main file must be called "index.html". Additionally, keep in mind that the UNIX system differentiates between lower- and uppercase in files names, e.g. "Image.gif" and "image.GIF" are not the same file.

The website will be available at "home.agh.edu.pl/~login" or "student.agh.edu.pl/~login", depending on the server it is hosted on.

Certificates

To receive a certificate, you must send a scanned copy of a filled out and signed S/MIME certificate application form to ithelp@agh.edu.pl.

In order to sign and encrypt your mail, you must be using a mailing client. You can find more information about setting up your certificate and using it in the user guide: Mail encryption in Thunderbird.

To obtain a server certificate, you must send a scanned copy of a filled out and signed TLS certificate application form to ithelp@agh.edu.pl.

The procedure of applying for a qualified electronic signature is available on the Bursar's Office website: Qualified signature.

You can log in to LDAP after creating your password in the Database of AGH Employees and Students. Read more: Database of AGH Employees and Students password.

AGH Cloud

Yes, the AGH Cloud has a dedicated app (available for Windows and macOS), which needs to be installed and configured in order to synchronise files and folders. Read more: Nextcloud setup.

Unfortunately no, the AGH Cloud is available exclussively to the AGH employees. If you are a student, doctoral student, or a retiree but you are also employed by the University, please contact the IT Helpdesk.

Log in to the AGH Panel and check your status in the "You" tab. If it is correct (employee), please follow the instructions below:

  • Clear cookies and cache in the browser.
  • Make sure the CapsLock key is not active.
  • Check if your keyboard layout is correct – press "z" or "y" and make sure the correct letter appears on the screen.
  • Restart your computer and try again.

If you still cannot log in, contact the IT Helpdesk.

Yes, you can. Read more: File and folder sharing.

Two-factor authentication can be enabled in the AGH SSO. Read more: Two-factor authentication for SSO.

Yes, files uploaded to the AGH Cloud are backed up for about a month. If the file was deleted no longer than a month ago, it is possible to restore it. In such a case, contact the IT Helpdesk.

The AGH Cloud access is granted the day after the account creation, as proper permissions need to be assigned to each user. Try to log in to the Cloud the next day – if you still cannot log in, please contact the IT Helpdesk.

First, check whether plugging in another network cable or plugging the device into another outlet solves the problem. If not, verify whether access to the Internet is not available only from a specific outlet, or if perhaps other neighbouring rooms have an Internet outage. The aforementioned issues should be reported to the IT Helpdesk.

The problem is most likely caused by the fact that the printer was not added to the local network. In order to do that, send the printer/scanner's location (building, floor, room) and physical address (MAC Address, in the XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX or XX-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX format) to your Local IT Administrator, requesting the device to be added to the network.

In order to be able to remotely connect to your work computer, you need to contact your Local IT Administrator.

Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi login and password are available in the AGH Panel. Read more: Connecting to the AGH Wi-Fi network.

Although we are constantly working on poviding the Wi-Fi signal to all of the campus, there are still places it does not cover. We recommend trying to connect to Wi-Fi in another building. Alternatively, try to connect to the Eduroam network.

It is not possible to log in to Wi-Fi with your e-mail password. Read more: Connecting to the AGH Wi-Fi

AGH VPN

The AGH VPN allows to connect to the University Computer Network (UCN) from outside of the AGH Campus. Being connected to the AGH network allows you to access resources which are not available outside of it (such as connecting to the student server via SSH, reading official documents in the AGH Documents system).

Unfortunately, it is not possible to remotely connect to your work computer using the AGH VPN. In order to do that, contact your Local IT Administrator.

The AGH VPN certificate is updated every year, between December and January.

The issue is most likely caused by an out-of-date certificate. Update it: Updating the AGH VPN certificate.

The issue is most likely caused by your internet provider, who is possibly blocking port 1194, which is responsible for the VPN connection.

To verify your AGH VPN connection, go to: http://galaxy4.agh.edu.pl/IP/. If what you see on the screen looks like the examples shown below, your connection has been set up successfully.
